Dear Quincy,
I am sorry for making your wife die from childbirth related complications. Tragically, pregnancy was a major killer in your fictional, made up, time period. You're a fun character to write, as well as being kinder, braver, more intelligent and proactive than half the cast. I wavered for some time on whether or not to take the story in this direction. While it would have been heartwarming and sweet to see you rewarded for all your positive actions by being welcomed by your loving wife and newborn, I am also not a just god.

Unfortunately, bad things happen to good people, suffering and disease exist, and sometimes we lose those closest to us without warning. It's not fair, it's extremely depressing, but it's also life. To make it up to you, I will give you your own story arc later on where you probably won't be given any more emotional kicks to the testicles.
